Jack Rose
I Do Play Rock And Roll
Three Lobed No Cat
LP
£16.99
Deluxe limited edition LP from Jack, in a run of less than 1000 copies with 180g vinyl and old school high gloss sleeves. Three tracks – but three fucking epic tracks – personally selected by Jack from his live archive. The first is a heady, zoned take on “Calais To Dover”, which originally appeared on 2005’s Kensington Blues, with this version recorded live in 2006. Then it’s “Cathedral et Chartres” live on VPRO in 2004 while over on the flip, arguably the real gravy, is a dazzling side-long investigation of the beautifully nuanced environs of “Sundogs”, only previously available in studio form on the highly-desirable By The Fruits… set. This is Jack at his most overtly gorgeous, his most psychedelic and, yeah, his most rock and roll. Tear it the fuck up. Highly recommended.
