Pig Newton & The Wizards From Kansas
Still In Kansas

Rockadelic

LP
£16.99

The Wizards Of Kansas’s 1970 album for Mercury is a great example of sky-caressing post-hippy trance and is much loved by collectors of counter-cultural bliss the world over. Still In Kansas is a totally necessary precursor to that LP, a collection of 68/69 recordings and demos that includes beautiful early versions of “Codine”, “High Flying Bird” and “She Rides With Witches” and is drawn from the time when they were still using the Pig Newton prefix. Sounding somewhere between Jefferson Airplane circa Crown Of Creation, blues-blasters like John Mayall and Sky Saxon and The Seeds of Future this is a great blast of back-then for anyone who still cares. And that’s gotta be you. Recommended.
