Another instalment in VDSQ’s thrilling on-going series of solo acoustic LPs, this time from Allen Karpinski of The Six Parts Seven. A series of settings for four-string acoustic that covers some fairly barren territory, with quiet introspective works that combine desert stylings ala Blind Willie with picking and sliding that mixes the attack of late-period Fahey with a more minimal/open acoustic style. Heavy nighttime/solitary vibe to the overall arc that plays out perfectly at 3am.
