ORDERING/STOCK AVAILABILITY
Email us your order prior to sending payment. Please include the full information for what you are ordering including Artist/Title/Format/Price and the country the order will be shipped to so we can calculate your postage. This helps us process your order more quickly. If it is on the site it is in stock, but because we carry many limited edition items, it is best to get in touch before sending your payment. If you are looking for a release you don’t see on our site we might be able to get it for you, just

RESERVES
We are happy to take reserves for items but do not reserve anything you do not intend to buy as this deprives other customers of limited items and we take a reserve as a commitment to buy on the behalf of the customer. We will hold reserves for 2 weeks max.
POSTAGE & PACKING
We package all of our vinyl safely and securely using only new professional cardboard mailers with cardboard stiffeners and all box sets, CDs, etc. are also packaged securely with brand new packaging. We recommend recorded delivery/insured post for an extra cost in the unlikely event your package is lost or damaged. If you live in the UK recorded delivery is only £1.00 additional (and if your package value is under £30 this also covers you for insurance), if your package value is above £30 please contact us for insurance rates in the UK. Outside of the UK insurance is only £5.00 We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of any non-insured packages. Our aim is to mail packages on the day of receipt of payment, however if an item you ordered is out of stock and will be back in stock within a 10-day period, we will hold your order and ship the package as soon as the item(s) are back in stock.

If your postage exceeds £11 you qualify for our flat rate service, so your postage in the UK will never exceed £11 no matter how much you order and you will automatically receive free insurance! Also, if your order is over 2KG in weight we will automatically ship your order through Parcelforce for £11.

WHAT VAT MEANS FOR NON-EEC CUSTOMERS
The good news is that if you live in a country outside the EEC, including the USA, Japan, Australia, etc., then you can now SUBTRACT VAT from your order BEFORE postage costs. No worries, we’ll do the maths for you, just keep that in mind when you’re calculating your order, you’re now getting a 15% discount. Oh yeah! DIY way to figure out how much less your order will be: Multiply the order price by 3, then divide by 23, that’s the amount we’ll take off your order. For example, you want an item that is £12.99, £12.99X3/23=£1.69. That means you can subtract £1.69 from the price. As another example, let’s say your order total before postage is £38.97, £38.97X3/23=£5.08, take £5.08 off your order, add the postage, then that’s what you pay. Like we said, we’ll do the maths, but feel free to email us if you have any questions.

All gift certificates are hand-drawn, so each one is unique and ready for framing! We’ll make them for any amount you like and personalise them to your instructions. Give us a shout if you want one!
PRICES
Due to the changing nature of wholesale costs (differences in currency exchange, freight charges, duty fees, etc.) prices may fluctuate on the site. We keep our prices as low as possible on Volcanic Tongue so we always go with the cheapest rate according to fluctuations. We also offer cheap postage prices and flat rate schemes for most countries if your package exceeds 2kg. We’ll always do everything we can to keep those prices down!

About: With material ranging from the blackest Japanese folk, Leeds’ dirtiest noise, and reissued glorious psychedelia, you’d need to be dead from the neck up to not find something to match your taste. The handmade shelving, fanatical staff, the sheer number of records in the intimate space makes it clear this is first and foremost a labor of love / obsession. Can you name another store with a Jandek shrine?
Specialty: As a store, label, and mail order / distribution company it’s swiftly become a lightning rod for the free/drone/noise/psych scenes. VT stocks all of those records that you would normally never have a chance of finding, unless you had some umbilical connection to the bands in question. Poetry books, t-shirts, DVDs, cassettes and CD-Rs—the place is jam-packed, and it demands more than a cursory visit.
Why We Love It: If the leftfield is your thing, then you can’t help but get seduced. Their weekly email updates cover such a huge amount of stock, and feature mini-reviews to let you know exactly what’s coming out. There isn’t anywhere else that does such a comprehensive round-up of what’s what in international underground music.

DEMOS & SUBMISSIONS
We are happy to accept demos and submissions for possible inclusion on Volcanic Tongue to our Argyle Street address. However, please be aware that we receive a large number of packages per day and are unable to guarantee to listen to everything we receive. If you do send us something, please do not email us to see if we have listened to your submission, if we are interested in stocking the release we will contact you but please know that even in this case you might not hear from us for some time, we’re very busy! We do not listen to MP3s or links to sound files. The best way to submit material is by mail with a detailed note, contact info and any other relevant information.
WE BUY SECOND-HAND RECORDS AND COLLECTIONS
Volcanic Tongue is always looking to buy single copies or collections of any interesting stock that reflects what we sell on our web site (i.e. no post-seventies major label crud, specifically after underground, private press, psych, free jazz, avant-garde, experimental, folk, blues, sound poetry, punk, DIY, garage, you know what we’re gettin’ at). We will only accept EX to Mint copies of records. If you have anything you think we might be interested in selling please get in touch, we will travel. We’ll pay cash or trade.
