Staggering blast of free jazz/avant rock ferocity from one of the all-time great high energy duos, saxophonist Arthur Doyle and guitarist Rudolph Grey. Grey and Doyle played together in the legendary Blue Humans - one of the first groups to explode rock form with the promise of fire music - and Grey also cut a bunch of sides with Doyle wailing over the top of his strings. This is a massively raw duo jam recorded in 1980 and originally scheduled to come out on Charles Tyler’s Ak-Ba label (same label as Doyle’s Alabama Feeling). Doyle is at his most ferocious, with an Industrial strength sandpaper tone that has no equal outside of Borbetomagus – and even then they’re playing through amps. Grey’s guitar is as radically fucked up as you could’ve hoped. A massive side that pretty much sums up the whole VT aesthetic. More please. Highly recommended.
